At the front end they added a RockShox REBA RL fork, known for its ruggedness and its all-terrain versatility. The Cooker Midi 5 is the Charge flagship in the company's 27.5 mountain bike series, created for those who want the best of two worlds: the handling advantages afforded by the 27.5 wheel combined with a larger tire for long-ride comfort. To that end, the Midi 5 delivers the goods and more. Titanium, stronger than aluminum, lighter than steel, also has the best strength-to-weight ratio of any metal. It also offers the longest life-span of any frame material on the market today. The Midi 5 uses the Tange Ultimate frame, built from seamless, butted 3AL 2.5V titanium, with a tapered headtube and custom dropout. Revered for its supple ride, titanium can remain corrosion-free for years down the trail. But let's face it, bare titanium just looks stunning. Following recent design theory, head angles are slack compared to Charge 29er frames. Make no mistake, the Midi 5 is a purpose-built 27.5 frame, so the frame's chainstays are shorter, and the BB height is adjusted for the 27.5 wheelset. The RockShox Reba RL Solo Air fork, with tapered steerer tube, rebound adjustment and TurnKey lockout is a rugged, reliable performer, whether you're climbing or descending, with more than enough plush travel. The fork can be locked out with the simple flip of a switch, transforming the Midi 5 from trail gladiator to a more civilized ride on pavement. Frame and fork, of course, are just part of the handling story. Wheels and tires are crucial, too, and that's where tubeless ready tires and rims. Add sealant and the WTB Trailblazer 2.8 tires and make the perfect match with the WTB Scraper i45, tubeless ready rims. This combination enables you to run pressures lower than you may have thought possible. The results are exhilarating traction and more float while retaining more of the handling that lets you carve it up. Backing up this rugged frame is a solid lineup of racing mountain components, anchored by the proven SRAM X1 group. Your power drives the rear wheel via a SRAM X1, 30T, X-SYNC narrow-wide chain ring crankset and an 11-speed SRAM XG 1180, 10-42T cassette.
