A shapeshifter of sorts, the Jamis Dakar AMT blurs the lines between trail, all mountain enduro, and gravity. With the AMT, Jamis built a 150mm travel rig with progressive mp4 Trail suspension that makes it easy to efficiently ride uphill as well as aggressively downhill. The Jamis Dakar AMT has been described as ''an XCT on steroids.'' The AMT is surprisingly light weight and amazingly competent due to the ribbed and boxed tubing shapes, tapered head tube, 10mm shock hardware, asymmetrical stays, and thru axles. The heart of the AMT is the triple-butted 7005 alloy frame which is both stiff and rugged yet, can tame trail vibrations like a champ, thanks to the 150mm of active travel which feeds off of the mp4 linkage design. The Dakar AMT is outfitted with an X-Fusion suspension kit. The X-Fusion Sweep RL2 fork allows the rider 3-position compression and lock-out, for a truly customized ride. The X-Fusion 02 RLX High Volume AV rear shock rounds out the suspension package. Together the front and rear shock work seamlessly together to provide a plush ride that will comfortably guide you over the hills and through the woods, all the way to grandmother's house for a frothy beverage. WTB SX25 27.5 wheels are resilient and wide to help keep the bike grounded, cornering responsive, and rolling resistance keen. The rock-solid Shimano Deore drivetrain includes shifters that communicate almost telepathically to the Deore front and rear derailleurs, ensuring quick, precise shifting. An FSA Comet Mega Exo crankset provides the power center for the AMT, delivering stroke after stroke of powerful pedal fury. Shimano Deore makes its encore with their M615 hydraulic disc brakes which provide the kind of control you need to tame the beast on quick descents and unsteady terrain. Like a toy in a cereal box, the Dakar AMT Comp comes with a KS eTen dropper post which allows on-the-fly height adjustability with the flick of a switch. Then there's the WTB Volt saddle which delivers all manner of on-the-bike comfort, so you can ride harder and farther.
