It was only a matter of time until it would make it's appearance on the XC riding wheel size of choice. That time is now. Enter the Yeti SB4.5C. A 29er frame equipped with a Switch Infinity link that has been optimized for 4.5 inches of travel while, at the same time, delivering a solid pedaling platform. Out of the saddle pushes to the top are handled efficiently while, on the descent, it's all trail bike. Let your inner Yeti loose. Creating a radically redesigned, completely new suspension platform was no easy task. For 4 years, Yeti worked side-by-side with the engineers at Fox Racing to develop the new Switch Infinity suspension system. Switch Infinity is a design before-unseen on mountain bikes. Functionally, the motion is similar to the older Switch design, but by moving away from a rotating eccentric pivot, Yeti could design a link that is an ''infinite'' length long, eliminating the feeling of the suspension bottoming out. Essentially, the rear suspension changes its wheel direction by translating vertical motion into horizontal motion on a pivot that suspends on two vertical, Kashima-coated stanchions, that Yeti calls a ''rail''. As the suspension compresses, the rear wheel moves upwards and outwards. The benefits are multi-fold. The X01 build of the Yeti SB-4.5C is handsomely executed using a Fox 34 Float Factory front fork with 140mm of travel and a wide 15x110mm Boost axle spacing. The SRAM X01 1 x 11 speed drivetrain includes a SRAM X01 11 speed trigger shifter, rear derailleur, 10-42T 11 speed cassette and chain. The extremely versatile Race Face Turbine cranks features a direct mount 30T narrow wide chainring. These components work hard at driving rider generated power to the DT Swiss 350 wheels wrapped in front and rear specific Maxxis tires. Easton Haven components and a SRAM Reverb dropper seatpost dominate the cockpit making the Yeti SB-4.5C one of the most well equipped and capable mountain bikes on the market.
