Ridley Liz C10 Women's Road Bike - 2015. The Ridley Liz is the all-new women's-specific race bike in Ridley's line up. Born from Ridley's research work with Bikefitting.com and feedback from their Topsport Vlaanderen women's pro team, Ridley has been able to create a bike with a truly unique level of fit and performance for women. The Liz C10 follows the philosophy that a bike should fit you, not the other way around. The race-ready geometry has been optimized for needs of women riders, but without making performance sacrifices. Instead of a sloping top tube, you'll find a shorter, curved top tube that enhances frame rigidity while accommodating shorter torso and arm length. A taller seat tube is made stiffer with a PF30 bottom bracket, and the fork geometry has been modified to give the bike the same race-oriented trail you would expect to find in a men's bike. The Liz C10 is a truly innovative women's road bike that takes comfort, performance, and precision to a new level. The frame is made with 24-ton high modulus unidirectional carbon fiber formed into Ridley's distinctive diamond shape for rugged strength and durability. The bike also features a shorter standover height that doesn't compromise performance--a system of bike frame design that is unique to Ridley. The C10 frame features internal cable routing, and for all the right reasons. Internal cable routing not only keeps the lines of the bike cleaner and makes the frame more aerodynamic, but it also cuts down on cable slap and fouling--essential when riding over rough terrain or in muddy, wet conditions. It helps keep the cables from wearing out prematurely, and keeps them cleaner for smoother, more precise shifting and braking in any weather conditions. Additionally, a PF30 bottom bracket and oversized, tapered headtube enhance frame stiffness. The PF30 bottom bracket allows the use of a crankset with a shorter, beefier spindle for less flex and improved power transmission. The bottom bracket shell is also burlier, which means that the frame is stiffer, so more watts go into forward movement, and less into frame flex. The tapered headtube enables the frame to be stiffer for improved handling and control on even the roughest terrain. The full carbon fiber fork features a medium rake that gives the bike the ability to dive into turns without feeling twitchy or unstable. The carbon fiber arms and steerer help absorb road vibrations and smooth out the ride. The Ultegra 6800 components are more than just an 11-speed evolution of Ultegra 6700. The new Ultegra features newly redesigned ergonomic hood and lever shapes that draw inspiration directly from the company's superlative Di2 systems. The result is a more comfortable lever that requires less force to execute a shift, thanks to decreased cable friction and improved housing.
